Disturbed Barrel Sharks?
July 6th, 2008 · No Comments
It is July 5th and I did my favorite triangle trip: Mountain View, Gilroy, Aptos, and back to Mountain View. Not much going on in Gilroy, just the usual 4th of July weekend shopping. Highway 152 West through the Santa Cruz mountains was open, no fire in sight, and so I arrived at my favorite [...]

From the Dept. of Offensive Bumper Stickers
June 26th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Seen today on my way to work, on a car’s bumper, a sticker with the following message:
My car cost more than the education of your honor student.
(In the U.S. cars frequently have stickers on their bumpers saying “my child is an honor student at Podunk elementary school”).

The fumigation of that house in my neighborhood took only a day before it got untented.

The hoopla around same-sex marriage on the radio today is deafening. The more amused I was when a friend sent me a link to this photo, courtesy of one “joestump” on Flickr.

You may have seen it on American TV and not believed it. But it is true. Seen in my neighborhood, fortunately not too close to where I live.
